[Untitled]BCC funded art workshops and activities
The P&C has received $7660 for the "Pallara - Create and Connect through Art" project.
This project has funded 18 workshops (16 completed so far).
* 2 Introduction to Drama workshops
* 6 Mosaic workshops
* 3 of 4 clay animation workshops
* 5 of 6 pottery workshops

Two last $5 art workshops – Sunday 13th September 09
at the Pallara State School (supported by Brisbane City Council)

1. Come and Try pottery – Sunday 13th September 12 noon to 2pm It’s time to get your hands dirty. Delve into the fun and engaging world of pottery with this unique workshop. Workshop facilitator Grant Hodges will guide you through the techniques of pottery wheel and hand sculpting. Learn the tricks of pottery and create a range of objects that you can take home.

2. Clay animation workshop – Sunday 13th September, 2:30 to 4:30 pm
Come along and learn how to make characters out of clay and bring them to life on screen using frame by frame digital stop motion animation in camera editing. Produce your own DVD after one workshop. Learn how Wallace and Gromit were made! Max 15 places.
This workshop is for young and old, from 5 years to 95 years. Cost: $5 per person. To book: contact the school 3723 6333 or email admin@pallarass.eq.edu.au.



New infrared camera for nextboxPossum box
Thank you to Blue Fin Fishing Club for generously donating funds for an infrared camera.
The camera will be installed in one of the six nestboxes at school to enable students to monitor the activity of gliders and possums in the boxes.






New P&C Iceboxes
Thank you to Greenbank RSL Early this year (2009) Greenbank RSL very generously donated
two large ice boxes to the Pallara State School Parents and Citizens Association. thank you
This will make it easier for the P&C to run barbeques and events which help raise funds for important projects at school.

Furniture fund appeal success
Between January and June 2008, the P&C successfully raised $2886 for Marumba Room Furniture
We have now purchased all the tables and chiars for the room.

The Pallara State School Parents and Citizens Association is a voluntary body of parents and local citizens interested in the welfare and advancement of the school.
