| The Association was initially formed in 1982 to force the Brisbane City Council and Queensland State Government to close the Willawong Liquid Waste facility. |

| Over the years it has found itself fighting for the rights of Pallara, Doolandella and Willawong residents on a large number of issues affecting the lifestyle of those suburbs. |

| One of the Association's greatest wins was the closure of the Willawong Liquid Waste Dump and the subsequent rehabilitation of the site. |
| |
| Some members appeared before a Senate Committee inquiring into toxic waste disposal throughout Australia. |
