Friends of The AnabranchThis is a featured page

The Friends of the Anabranch community group was originally formed in May 2005 by concerned local residents to address issues associated with a concept plan to build a weir wall across Oxley Creek. While this concept plan has largely been dismissed the Friends of the Anabranch community group continue to be actively involved in the future use of the Readymix site, the Lower Oxley Creek planning process and the Paradise Wetland Neighbourhood Plan community consultation process.

The group do not claim to represent the views of all residents along the Anabranch or Oxley Creek. The main aim of the group is to collect and distribute information that maybe of interest to the local community. When information does becomes available it is often placed on the Pallara.com website in the Pallara Willawong News or distributed to local house holds in the form of a flyer.

Guest speakers are often invited to give presentations on their area of expertise to local residents. To date the groups has heard speakers from Readymix, Catchments and Creeks Pty Ltd, Karawatha Forest Protection Society and Brisbane Regional Environment Council.

Thank you for taking an interest in the future of area local area.
